Integrated Curriculum
Our massage licensing programs at our Bend massage school far
exceeds the requirements for licensure as a massage therapist
in Oregon and exceeds the National Certification Board for
Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB)’s
requirements for taking the written exam. Sage School
of Massage is accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy
Accreditation (COMTA).
To be licensed in the state of Oregon, a graduate must pass the
Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) or the
National Certification Examination and a practical exam
from the Oregon Board of Massage. Other
states and local municipalities do have their own licensing
requirements that may be different from Oregon. For more information on other
state licensing criteria, please contact the director who can
give you that information.

Time Commitment
Our goal is, prior to enrollment, every student “counts the cost” involved in successfully completing the program. The massage curriculum requires a high level of commitment and a priority in time management. We understand that the amount of time required to study varies according to an individual’s background, level of study skills, and the flow of the subject matter from week to week.
However, in general: a student will spend approximately 18 to
21 hours a week in classes, plus 2-4 hours outside of class
giving/receiving massages, plus a minimum of 8-10 hours of
study time.
With life full of important priorities like family, children,
work schedules, caring for pets, and various other obligations,
it is essential that students think ahead and make preparations
before starting school, to ensure success in completion of the
massage program.
