Ethics & the Therapeutic Relationship – January 11, 2024

This class is designed to provide a review of the elements of a therapeutic relationship, and its importance in the massage profession. Ample time will be allowed to discuss ethical considerations and ethical dilemmas experienced while working in the field. Boundary crossings, dual relationships, and the use of technology are common topics raised by both practitioners and clients. Practicing massage during and after a pandemic has also raised some interesting questions. Please bring your questions, and candid thoughts – this class is for those  experiencing these issues in real time and honest conversation is not only encouraged, it’s expected. Using Traditional Chinese Medicine to Improve your Massage Practice-January 13, 2024

Gain a deeper understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and modalities, and how to apply these concepts to your massage practice.  TCM Modalities that will be covered and practiced in depth include Cupping, Gua Sha (tool assisted manual therapy), Hot and Cold therapies, use of Liniments, and Electric Muscle Stimulation. Kinesio taping usage will also be included.  There will be an overview on acupuncture meridians and points, and how they can be used to complement your massage treatments. Focus will be on how the meridians work, where they are located on the body, and how to use them to affect different body areas.  This is a great way to expand your knowledge with a new way to look at human anatomy and give you different tools to problem-solve for your clients.    ZOOM AVAILABLE.…If you would like to attend this class online on Zoom….please contact the school for the link.
