Ethics Round Table for Healing Arts Professionals - March 6, 2019

Let's tell some stories! We can learn from each other. This is a group get-together for continuing education (CE) hours where we will simply hang out and discuss difficult topics.  Come to two workshops and get our Oregon Board of Massage ethics "live" requirements fulfilled!

Come with your concerns about:

  • Boundary issues
  • Challenging client personalities
  • Uncomfortable situations
  • Ethical dilemmas

Class Time: Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
CE Hours: 2  (NCBTMB approved provider #287)   
Cost: $49

Instructor: Ellyn Vandenberg is a Certified Rolfer™, Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Functional Strength Coach with a B.A. in Psychology who has been doing bodywork since 1994. She has experience as a Medical Assistant in both Naturopathic Medicine and Non-Surgical Orthopedics. She was a faculty instructor of Pathology, Myofascia and Ethics at Sage School of Massage in Bend, OR for 9 years and taught at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, OR for 2 years. She teaches CE classes in Myofascial Techniques and Ethics. Experienced in running, cycling, swimming, yoga, rock climbing and dance, she has been bringing humor into her classrooms since 1998.

Registration: When you pay with PayPal (Note: You can pay with your PayPal account or you can use most credit cards) you are automatically registered for the workshop and will receive an email reminder one day prior to the class.  If you cannot attend the class and you let us know 10 days in advance, you will receive a full refund less $10 for administrative fees.

Fascia:  Conditions of the Upper Extremity - March 16 & 17th 

Good times to be had exploring the arm, wrist and shoulder and common conditions of the upper extremity such as:

  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Rotator Cuff tears

 Class Times: Saturday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM and Sunday from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM

CE Hours: 13 (NCBTMB approved provider #287)

Cost: $295 if registered on or before Friday, February 22nd: $325 after that date

What to bring:  Please be prepared with a lightweight bra or thin-strapped tank top (avoid racer-back sports bras) that allow easy access to the upper body and neck. Please bring a set of sheets, a face cradle cover, blanket and a pillow.

Registration:When you pay with PayPal (Note: You can pay with your PayPal account or you can use most credit cards) you are automatically registered for the workshop and will receive an email one week prior to the class to let you know what to bring.  You can pay 50% at this time to hold your spot in class and then pay the remaining tuition the day of class or pay the full amount below.  If you cannot attend the class and you let us know 10 days in advance, you will receive a full refund less $25 for administrative fees.  Please note above there is a discount for registering early and an increase in tuition after that date.  Those who register after early registration will be required to pay the full amount of the workshop.

Postural Assessment & Session Formulation - April 13th

What do you see? What should you do?

Improve your visual assessment so that you’ll be able to see more clearly!  In this class we’ll take time to look and assess posture, structure and function. We’ll also talk about how to formulate sessions based on what you see. Come and join us!

Class Time: Saturday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.
